Adv. Manilall is an admitted advocate and the Chief Executive Officer of 

Santhos Manilall Forensics (Pty) Ltd. He has 15 years’ experience in the legal 

field, of which 9 years have been in the Forensic Investigation Environment. 

He has been a Senior Advocate with the Directorate of Special operations 

(Scorpions), Senior Manager at KPMG and an Associate Director at 

Deloitte before establishing his own company (SMF) more than 2 years ago.  

He has been a recognised Senior State Advocate and has received various 

accolades as a State Advocate such as 

•  Awarded a special recognition award by the National Director of Public   

   Prosecutions 

•  Advocate of the year (2005 – Scorpions) 

•  Advocate of the year (2006 – together with Billy Downer and Anton 

   Steynberg) for the prosecution of the Shabir Shaik case 

He has also been sent to the USA Attorney General’s office for training on 

the prosecution of Organised Crime cases. He has an intimate knowledge of 

the operations of KZN Provincial Treasury’s internal Forensic Investigation 

Unit as he was seconded to this unit for eight months during he made 

valuable contributions to grow and enhance the unit. He was also 

instrumental in drafting the KZN Provincial Treasury forensic investigation 

methodology and forensic investigation framework. His professional 

experience includes training of Forensic Investigators and presenting Fraud 

Prevention and Awareness seminars. During testimony at disciplinary and 

criminal tribunals, he has been qualified as a specialist in the field of Forensic 

Investigation.

Mr SP Webster

Mr SP Webster served in the South African Police Service for 15 years, which

includes being a Detective Captain in the Commercial Crime Unit. He was 

also a Director of a National investigation company for 15 years and has a 

total of 30 years’ experience in Law Enforcement and Investigation. Mr 

Webster is currently a Manager at SMF. He has performed numerous 

forensic investigations at many Municipalities and at most of the Provincial 

Government Departments.

Mr Mark Jansen Van Rensburg 

Mr M Jansen Van Rensburg served in the South African Police Service for 9

years, which includes being a Detective Warrant Officer in the Commercial 

Crime Unit. He was also a Director of a National investigation company for 

15 years and has a total of 24 years’ experience in Law Enforcement and 

Investigation. Mr Jansen van Rensburg is currently a Manager at SMF. 

He has performed numerous forensic investigations at many Municipalities 

and at most of the Provincial Government Departments

Mr Jabulani Fihlela 

Mr J Fihlela has worked as a Senior Consultant for Andersen Consulting and Deloitte. Prior to joining SMF he was a Senior Manager at KPMG and a Director of Risk Management Services at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. He holds the following qualifications: Hons BSc, MA, Diploma in Datametrics and Diploma in Project Management. He has 8 years’ experience in private security and 12 years’ experience in Fraud Risk Management and Forensic Investigations. He is currently a Manager at SMF. He has performed numerous forensic investigations at many municipalities and at most of the Provincial Government Departments.
